Peter Crouch has found a unique way of protecting his family and his £4.5m property, using cardboard cutouts of himself. The former Liverpool, Tottenham and England striker lives in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire with wife Abbey Clancy and their three children.

The couple have been targeted by criminals in the past, as robbers stole from their home in 2011. Christmas presents were pinched on that occasion, while back in 2006, Crouch had his £100,000 Aston Martin stolen during a raid on his house in Alderley Edge.

The ex- Premier League goalscorer, who has now retired from playing football, hopes to have had his last run-in with any burglars.
