Pete Wicks has opened up about his testicular cancer scare, revealing he ignored a lump for around three months before finally going to get it checked out by a doctor.

The former The Only Way Is Essex favourite, 35, is one of the famous faces taking part in ITV's The Real Full Monty: Jingle Balls this festive season.The annual show, which begins airing on Monday, 11 December, aims to raise awareness of cancer and the importance of checking for signs of the disease.

Pete has now spoken out about his own cancer scare, with the TV star admitting he found a lump back in January but proceeded to ignore it, blaming his "ego" for preventing him from seeking medical advice.

The Celebs Go Dating star, whose uncle suffered testicular cancer, said he became "self-conscious" of the lump and eventually decided to go to the doctors to get it checked.
