Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor A fairy-winged Vanessa Hudgens wants to lure unsuspecting trick-or-treaters into the “ultimate haunted house” in a new virtual-reality experience created by horror wizard Eli Roth exclusively for Meta. “Eli Roth’s Haunted House: Trick-VR-Treat,” from his Crypt TV banner, will take viewers on a Halloween adventure that goes horrifically awry — culminating in a frighteningly immersive haunted house. Written and directed by Roth, the 30-minute, 180-degree VR experience will premiere in Meta’s Horizon Worlds and Meta Quest TV on Friday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. PT. If you don’t have a Meta Quest 2 VR headset, the experience also will be available to watch on Crypt TV’s Facebook and Instagram pages. (Watch the trailer below.)

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large More familiar faces will be joining “Young Sheldon” alums Montana Jordan and Emily Osment on the upcoming spinoff series “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” Set to guest star in Season 1 will be Zoe Perry as Georgie (and Sheldon’s) mother Mary Cooper, Annie Potts as his Meemaw and Raegan Revord as sister Missy Cooper. “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” stars Jordan, continuing his role as Georgie, and Osment as his wife Mandy, as the characters raise their new family in Texas. Unlike “Young Sheldon” (but like “The Big Bang Theory”), the series will be a multi-camera comedy as opposed to a single-cam.

The 11-episode series also has a new premiere date, as it’s retooled with Sasso in the lead. Formerly set to bow Aug. 30, “Uncle Drank” is now due Sept. 13 through major podcast hosts, including all of SiriusXM’s audio entertainment platforms (including the SXM App, Pandora and Stitcher). Sasso, known for TV roles on “MadTV,” “How I Met Your Mother” and “Less Than Perfect,” joins a voice cast that includes Luke Wilson, Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley, Chelcie Lynn, Billy Zane, Scarlett Burke and Audio Up CEO Jared Gutstadt.
