Erling Haaland his Manchester City medical before his move to the club was announced.City confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that they have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign Haaland in the summer, after triggering his £51million release clause. The club's official statement explains the deal is subject to finalising personal terms with the Norwegian striker, who reportedly had a medical in Belgium on Monday.French newspaper L'Equipe report that former City captain Kompany played an important part in helping to arrange the logistics of Haaland's medical at the Erasmus Hospital in Brussels.Kompany, who is now the manager of Brussels-based side Anderlecht, was involved in finalising the details of the 21-year-old's trip to the Belgian capital.Haaland is understood to have met with City's medical staff on Monday for his medical ahead of the move, having been given time off by Dortmund to travel from Germany.City have now confirmed a deal to complete the highly-anticipated signing of Haaland, who has scored 85 goals in 88 matches for Dortmund since signing for the club in January 2020.That includes 28 goals in 29 appearances this season, with an additional eight assists for his team-mates, as he follows in the footsteps of his father.
