The creative team behind the Game Of Thrones prequel series House Of The Dragon has been shaken up with the departure of executive producer Jocelyn Diaz.Deadline reported on Sunday that Diaz will not be returning for the hit series' second season.Diaz's departure comes after executive producer — and co-showrunner — Miguel Sapochnik also departed the series.  Behind-the-scenes shakeup: The Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon got another creative shakeup with the departure of EP Jocelyn Diaz, Deadline reported on MondayAccording to sources who spoke with the publication, Diaz — who is described as a non-writing executive producer — only had a one-year contract with an option to stay for a second season, but that is no longer being exercised.The change appears to have been relatively recent, as she was initially said to be continuing with the series once Sapochnik's departure was announced, along with Sara Hess and Vince Gerardis.Sapochnik has a first-look deal with HBO, so his affiliation with the network will continue, and he will continue to be credited as an EP throughout the series' run.  The report indicates that the co-creator and executive producer Ryan Condal is reshaping House Of The Dragon's creative team ahead of the second season after becoming the sole showrunner with Sapochnik's exit.He co-created the series with George R. Game of Thrones spin-off House of The Dragon are set to be replaced despite only being two episodes in.The show, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, follows the trials and tribulations of the Targaryen house which will eventually lead to the infamous Targaryen civil war.Matt Smith has taken on the role of the cunning Daemon Targaryen, brother to Paddy Considine, the troubled King Viserys on the hunt for a new heir and Milly Alcock as fiery, dragon-riding Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.READ MORE: Matt Smith winced over number of sex scenes in Game of Thrones spin-off showHowever, following a time leap, Alcock is set to be replaced by actress Emma D'Arcy, known for her appearances in Truth Seekers and Mothering Sunday.Emma will take on the role of the white-haired princess who is the current air following the quick death of her baby brother.Princess Rhaenyra's best pal and now-stepmother Alicent Hightower is played by Emily Carey at the moment but will be replaced by Olivia Cooke as the plot skips forward in time.The actors playing the young cousins of Rhaenyra, Laena Velaryon and Laenor Velaryon will be replaced by Nanna Blondell and John MacMillan by episode five.Co-creator Ryan Condal revealed the child cast shake-up was agreed early on and despite being a "conceit" it works for the show.He said: "It's a conceit but I think it does work, having watched it a bunch of times."The people that are truly children in this are the ones that get recast. And the people that are already adults when we meet them, we age them up through hair and makeup and sometimes the actors change their voice," Ryan continued.
