Léa Seydoux is set to play Lady Margot in Dune: Part Two, the next instalment of the fantasy blockbuster. Deadline reported that the French actress is still in negotiations to join the cast which includes Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin and Zendaya. In May it was confirmed that Christopher Walken and Austin Butler would star in the second film.

Sicario star Josh Brolin has shared an update on the forthcoming third film in the franchise.The actor, who plays Matt Graver in the action-thriller franchise, recently said that a second sequel is “at the forefront of all of our minds” for those involved.Sicario was released in 2015 and was a critical and commercial success, with a sequel then following in 2018 called Day of the Soldado which was directed by Stefano Sollima, taking over from Denis Villeneuve.“I just don’t know when we’ll do it. We may be 80,” Brolin said of a potential Sicario 3 while in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter.“But it’s very much at the forefront of all of our minds,” he continued.

Joe Walker has won the Oscar for film editing for Dune — taking one of the eight technical categories that were controversially shifted out of the main telecast. Dune was the frontrunner for the win, which is Walker’s first after two previous nominations, for Arrival (in 2017, also directed by Denis Villeneuve) and 12 Years A Slave (2014).

Hans Zimmer won his second career Oscar tonight, Original Score for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. This was Zimmer’s 12th nomination for Original Score, and second win since The Lion King in 1995. He was previously nominated for Rain Man (1989), The Preacher’s Wife (1997), As Good as It Gets (1998), The Prince of Egypt (1999), The Thin Red Line (1999), Gladiator (2001), Sherlock Holmes (2010), Inception (2011), Interstellar (2015), and Dunkirk (2018).

Production designer Patrice Vermette and set decorator Zsuzsanna Sipos took home statuettes for their work on Dune at the Academy Awards on Sunday. Both Vermette and Sipos are first-time winners, though the former had previously been nominated for his work on the films The Young Victoria and Arrival.
