The Denis Villeneuve drama, based on Frank Herbert’s novel, was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and won six.  In the sequel, Atreides teams up with Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen to exact revenge on those who destroyed his family, and he must juggle his love life with the fate of the universe at stake. The trailer shows Paul riding the back of a massive sand worm on the deserts of Arrakis while Chani and the Fremen cheer him on.

The trailer for Dune: Part Two is being released TOMORROW, but Warner Bros. is giving fans a sneak peek at some of the new characters.

Denis Villeneuve‘s “Dune: Part Two” arrives in theaters on November 3, carrying with it the huge expectations of devotees of Frank Herbert‘s 1965 novel. Will Villeneuve do justice to the entire story of Herbert’s book? After all, “Dune” is a lot of different stories all at once: it’s an intergalactic war movie; a coming-of-age tale for Paul Atreides; a love story between Paul and Chani; a warning about the dangers of exploiting the natural world’s ecology for material gain; and a treatise on how statecraft and polity go hand in hand, with humanity manipulating itself for its best interests over generations.

She will remain creatively involved in the prequel as executive producer but will focus on other commitments.
