The network is developing Teng’s military drama Eagle Eye with FBI co-creator Craig Turk, and crime drama Mastermind from Sallie Patrick (Dynasty), Nina Tassler and Denise Di Novi’s PatMa Productions and CJ Entertainment’s K-drama producer and distributor Studio Dragon (Netflix’s Crash Landing on You). CBS Studios, where Teng is under an overall deal, is the studio for both projects, executive produced and to be directed by Teng.

One woman has a secret, the other a mission to reveal it before thousands of lives are lost.“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Steven Knight on ‘The Veil’ and thrilled to have Elisabeth Moss sign on for the lead role,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX. “Steven’s scripts are riveting and no doubt will showcase Elisabeth’s exceptional talent.” Knight is writing and executive producing “The Veil,” with Moss executive producing under her Love & Squalor Pictures banner.

FX has ordered The Veil, a new limited series thriller for Hulu from Steven Knight and starring Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale). 

Jonathan Littman, who helped launch Jerry Bruckheimer Television and has led the prolific TV company for the past 25 years as President, is leaving and plans to launch his own production company. Under Littman’s exit agreement, he will stay involved in several of JBTV’s series, including CSI: Vegas and The Amazing Race, which are the very first two JBTV series (or a followup in the case of Vegas) to get on the air.

Mónica Marie Zorrilla Starz is developing a drama series about Texan citizen journalist “Lagordiloca” (an alias for Priscilla Villarreal) penned by playwright and filmmaker Hilary Bettis, Variety has confirmed.Inspired by Texas Monthly’s coverage about Villarreal, the show centers on the titular protagonist’s rise as a street journalist and modern-day folk hero in her border-town of Laredo, as she seized the power of social media and pushed the boundaries of the first amendment to expose corruption, cartels and other ills in her beloved community. The project hails from Bettis, Nina Tassler and Denise DiNovi’s PatMa Productions banner, as well as CBS Studios.Deadline first reported the “Lagordiloca” announcement.

EXCLUSIVE: Starz has put in development Lagordiloca, a drama series that chronicles the rise of street journalist Priscilla Villarreal as she capitalizes on the power of livestream reporting to expose corruption, cartels, and serial killers in the border town of Laredo, Texas. Joe Otterson TV ReporterCBS has given out a pair of pilot orders to comedy projects from Sarah Cooper and Mark Gross.Cooper’s untitled single-camera project is inspired by her book, “How to be Successful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings.” It follows three women at different stages in their careers at a male-dominated company who help each other navigate modern gender politics in their professional and personal lives.Cooper will serve as co-writer and executive producer, with Cindy Chupack also co-writing, executive producing, and showrunning. Nina Tassler, Denise Di Novi, and Joan Boorstein of PatMa Productions will also executive produce.

CBS has handed pilot orders to two untitled half-hour comedies: one inspired by TikTok star Sarah Cooper’s book How to Be Successful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings, from writer Cindy Chupack and producers Nina Tassler and Denise Di Novi; and one based on professional bowler Tom Smallwood’s life, from writer Mark Gross and producers David Hollander and Brian D’Arcy James. Both projects hail from CBS Studios.
