Mercury Rev have shared details of an upcoming album called ‘Born Horses’, and revealed a new run of UK and European tour dates. Find ticket details below, as well as the lead single ‘Patterns’.The album marks the American rock group’s first new LP of new material in nine years, and comes as the follow-up to 2015’s ‘The Light in You’.

Suede’s Brett Anderson has teamed up with Nadine Shah for a moving version of Mercury Rev’s ‘Holes’ – check it out below.The collaboration has come about as part of a project led by Paraorchestra, and their founder and artistic director Charles Hazlewood, who have put together the album ‘Death Songbook’.The 12-track record features original compositions and new versions of “iconic songs exploring love, loss and transcendence” by artists including Depeche Mode, Suede and Japan.Watch Anderson and Shah’s live performance of ‘Holes’ here:‘Death Songbook’ will be released on April 19 via BMG, and you can pre-order it here.There will also be two live performances of songs from the album, at London’s Roundhouse on April 24, with Shah and Gwenno joining Anderson and Paraorchestra. Gwenno will also join them at Manchester’s Factory International on April 26.

Bombay Bicycle Club have announced their sixth studio album ‘My Big Day’ and released its title track.Produced by the band’s vocalist/guitarist Jack Steadman, ‘My Big Day’ features collaborations with Damon Albarn, Jay Som, Nilüfer Yanya and Holly Humberstone, with a fifth special guest set to release a song with the band later this summer.Bombay Bicycle Club also shared the album’s title track alongside an accompanying music video. Directed by Jon Higgs from Everything Everything and Kit Monteith (percussionist for Foals), the video showcases a local newscast covering some heavy-hitting news.The LP has additional production from Paul Epworth on the track ‘Heaven’ and Ben Allen who co-produced ‘Turn The World On’. The band previously worked with Allen on their hit single ‘Shuffle’ back in 2011.‘My Big Day’ was mixed by Dave Fridmann who is known for his work with The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, MGMT and HAIM.

Suede‘s Brett Anderson and Nadine Shah have teamed up with the Paraorchestra for a one off concert of covers including David Bowie, Echo & The Bunnymen and Mercury Rev.The nine-track gig, dubbed ‘Death Songbook’, which will be streamed by BBC Cymru as part of GŴYL 2021 this weekend, also features Portishead‘s Adrian Utley on guitar and Seb Rochford from Sons of Kemet on drums.The acoustic/electric set was recorded in a COVID-safe environment in January on the largest of Wales Millennium Centre’s stages and featured tracks by Suede along with Bowie’s cover of Jacques Brel’s ‘My Death’ and Echo And The Bunnymen’s ‘The Killing Moon’.You can view a performance of Mercury Rev’s ‘Holes’ and the full setlist below.GŴYL 2021 is a free to watch
