Marika Hackman has announced her new album ‘Big Sigh’, released its lead single ‘Hanging’ and has shared the dates for a UK and European tour.‘Big Sigh’ marks Hackman’s fourth studio album and the singer has revealed in a press release that it was the “hardest record” she has made. The first track from the LP, ‘Hanging’, is a slow-sombre cut that is juxtaposed with loud guitars towards the end.Speaking about the song, Hackman explained: “‘Hanging’ is reflecting on a difficult past relationship and how you can trap yourself in a situation where you’re unable to grow into the next stage of your life.“The line ‘Yeah you were a part of me, I’m so relieved it hurts’ is describing how painful it still is to break up even if it’s not right.”Her upcoming album has been described as an edifying blend of sadness, stress and lust, but mostly – and crucially – that of relief.

Glastonbury, Latitude and Green Man Festival over the summer.Celebrations kick off this Friday (June 28) at Glastonbury Festival, which will see Transgressive take over The Wishing Well between 11pm-6am with performances and DJ sets from Moonchild Sanelly, Miso Extra, Future Bounce B2B DJs, and Transgressive DJs. Marika Hackman has shared her first single in four years, ‘No Caffeine’.The uplifting track is her first new material since her 2019 album ‘Any Human Friend’.“’No Caffeine’ is a list of what to do to avoid having a panic attack and looking at my anxiety as an abusive partner,” said Hackman of the new song.“Occupy your mind / Don’t stay home / Talk to all your friends, but don’t look at your phone / Scream into a bag / Try to turn your brain off,” she sings on the track.The singer-songwriter has also shared a video for the song, which sees her getting a bloody nose before she is physically sick.
