Mykki Blanco has today (August 10) shared a new song, ‘Steps’ – check it out below.The song features MNEK and Saul Williams and is taken from Blanco’s upcoming new album, ‘Stay Close To Music’, which arrives on October 14 via Transgressive records.Speaking of their new single, Blanco explained, “I think a song like ‘Steps’ is a testament to what can happen when three very unique artists are given time to create a meditation together – to respond to one another when the moment is right –  almost like the lines of a haiku – maybe ‘Steps’ is a prayer unique in its ability to transcend and transform and provide peace without necessarily providing an answer.”Mykki continued: “In many ways ‘Steps’ symbolises a pointed progression in my songwriting. I think as a songwriter, I was not always willing to be so vulnerable.

Christine & The Queens, 2ManyDJs, ShyGirl and more leading the bill. Other headliners for the night include Job Jobse, Saoirse, Confidence Man and Horsegiirl.Elsewhere, LSDXOXO will take to the stage, as will Hercules & Love Affair and I.Jordan.

Glastonbury, Latitude and Green Man Festival over the summer.Celebrations kick off this Friday (June 28) at Glastonbury Festival, which will see Transgressive take over The Wishing Well between 11pm-6am with performances and DJ sets from Moonchild Sanelly, Miso Extra, Future Bounce B2B DJs, and Transgressive DJs. The full line-up has yet to be announced.Later in the summer, the company will head to Latitude Festival on July 25, with a curated line-up on the Sunrise Arena which includes The WAEVE (Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall), Mystery Jets, KOKOKO!, HotWax and a DJ set from Let’s Eat Grandma.A post shared by Transgressive (@transgressivehq)A new addition to the celebrations also includes a party in New York, where Transgressive recently opened their first overseas office, on September 25.

Haim, The Roots, The Flaming Lips and Sheryl Crow are scheduled to headline The Big Climate Thing Festival, a three-day climate-themed festival in New York City.Seeking to address and raise awareness of the climate crisis, the event will blend musical programming with climate-related dialogue, including videos, talks, and calls to action. The event, which takes place at the start of Climate Week NYC in September, will also be carbon-mapped in an effort to reduce its environmental footprint.The festival’s proceeds will support EarthPercent, a Brian Eno-launched nonprofit which seeks to raise $100million of music industry funds for climate initiatives by 2030.

Mykki Blanco has claimed they’ve not been paid for their guest spot on Teyana Taylor’s ‘WTP’, a song taken from the singer’s second album ‘K.T.S.E.’ (2018).Blanco explained that they felt the need to go public and urge fans not to stream the song due to financial troubles resulting from coronavirus‘ stranglehold on the live music industry.“The reason I have gone public with this is not to bad mouth [Teyana Taylor], but her ENTIRE team and Universal [Music Group] have treated me WITH SO MUCH DISRESPECT, THEY HAVE TREATED ME BAD Y’ALL… REALLY BAD, I HATE DOING THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA BUT I HAVE HAD IT!!!!!” Blanco wrote.
