Jordan Moreau Fans can take a trip to the “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” sooner than expected. Disney is moving up the release date for the new “Planet of the Apes” movie from May 24 to May 10. It avoids a crowded Memorial Day holiday weekend that also includes the releases of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and “The Garfield Movie.” The apes will now take on the Amy Winehouse biopic, “Back to Black,” on the new date.

Jaden Thompson Universal Pictures has released the trailer for the upcoming horror film “Abigail,” set to release on April 19. The film is helmed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett — also known as Radio Silence — who directed recent popular horror movies including “Scream” (2022), “Scream VI” (2023) and “Ready or Not” (2019). “Abigail” follows a group of kidnappers who get in over their heads when their young target, a girl named Abigail, turns out to be a vampire.

Angus Cloud‘s final project has ben revealed.

Angus Cloud had completed work on his role in an upcoming monster thriller prior to his untimely death, ET has confirmed. The film is slated for an April 2024 release.The actor died on Monday, his family previously shared in a statement.

Smith (“Treadstone”) have been cast in upcoming Canadian ITV Studios drama “Essex County.” Joining them as lead cast are Stephen McHattie (“October Faction”), Finlay Wojtak-Hissong (“Blood”) and Kevin Durand (“Pantheon”). Christina Piovesan, executive producer and CEO of First Generation Films unveiled the casting. The five-episode series is based on Jeff Lemire’s graphic novel of the same name, which explores themes of loss, betrayal, trauma and redemption via two families living in a rural community. Lemire is also writing and showrunning the series, which is directed by Andrew Cividino (“Schitt’s Creek”).

The franchise film is pitched as a new chapter in the “Planet of the Apes” saga, picking up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s “War for the Planet of the Apes.” Under the direction of Wes Ball (“The Maze Runner” trilogy) it will star Owen Teague (“It”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Peter Macon (“The Orville”), Eka Darville (“Jessica Jones”) and Kevin Durand (“The Strain”).

Joe Hartwick Jr, Jaffa, Silver and Jason Reed are the film’s producers, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping exec producing.

Drama series Locke & Key is set to return to Netflix for a third season this summer. Netflix describes Locke & Key as a "coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family.”

Season 3 of Netflix’s Locke & Key will premiere August 10, the streamer revealed today as part of its annual Geeked Week. As Deadline revealed exclusively in April, the upcoming third season will be the supernatural thriller series’ last. Netflix also released a teaser trailer that gives a first look at Locke & Key‘s final chapter.
