Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer pleaded not guilty to the charge of vehicular manslaughter in court in California on Thursday (September 26).The incident took place in Alhambra, California on March 18, when pedestrian Israel Sanchez, 47, was hit by a car and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital from blunt force trauma.Klinghoffer, who has also played with Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, Iggy Pop and Morrissey, entered his not guilty plea through his lawyer Blair Berk to the charge of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence. The criminal case is due back in court on October 31.In addition, Sanchez’s family have also sued Klinghoffer in a civil lawsuit for wrongful death and negligence for his alleged role in the man’s death.

A wrongful death suit filed by Sanchez’s family in July against Klinghoffer alleges the musician was using a cell phone and driving a car with no plates when the accident took place. The lawsuit also claims that there is video evidence suggesting Klinghoffer “was likely driving while distracted” and “made no braking or slowing motion until after he fatally struck” Sanchez.However, a source close to the investigation told The Post on Thursday that the police have determined there was no cell phone involved in the cause of the accident.An attorney for Sanchez’s family pushed back after Thursday’s hearing, saying that in video evidence, Klinghoffer “appears to be holding a phone” as he drives past a business near the site of the accident “seconds” before the collision.“If they have exculpatory evidence, it’s never been presented to us,” Grayson Yoder told Rolling Stone.“All I can see is what I see on the video.

Along with the announcement of the LP, Deal has shared ‘Crystal Breath’ the second single to be released from the album.The ominous and eccentric track sees Deal sing: “My crystal breath shatters in you / The freak in my reflection sparkles into view / Let’s start a new life,” in a spoken word vocal with an eerie and spooky beat. Flea has opened up about his most painful on-stage injuries.The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist gave a new interview with Hot Ones where reminisced about some of the most memorable injuries he’s suffered. The band recently put out their album ‘Unlimited Love‘ in March 2022, a record which saw them reunite with guitarist John Frusciante.From being “hit in the head with a flying bottle” to being “spit on numerous times,” Flea went on to describe some of the more unusual ways he was hurt during a performance.The bassist went on to reveal that lead singer Anthony Kiedis even injured him one concert: “You know one time Anthony was swinging around a microphone like that (pretends to swing a microphone around) and he boom clocked me in the head, took me out.”Flea also said that he’s accidentally hurt himself on stage as well.
