With their kids now off at school, they make the decision to pack up what they can in their backpacks and take off on the Salt Path, a 630-mile stretch from Dorset to Somerset on the Southwestern English Coast. To make matters worse, the husband has just been diagnosed with a terminal neurodegenerative disease, but they are bound and determined to complete this adventure, perhaps the last of their lives because they have no other choice.

Charna Flam Eva Maria Daniels, producer of independent features “Reality,” “What Maisie Knew” and “Joe Bell,” died on Friday, June 30 in London, after battling cancer. She was 43. Throughout her career, Daniels maintained longstanding partnerships with producer Riva Marke and A24, worked as a producer for The Mill and Company 3 and served as a consultant for the Icelandic Film Fund. “Eva died on the same terms as she lived. She played her cards close to her chest. She didn’t seek recognition when she had success. She didn’t seek pity when she suffered. I will miss her friendship greatly, but mostly I will miss seeing what she would have done next,” wrote director Börkur Sigthorsson on Facebook.

Eva María Daniels, producer on the 2020 Mark Wahlberg-starrer Joe Bell and EP on the recent Sydney Sweeney vehicle Reality from HBO, has died. The news was announced by friend, filmmaker and fellow Icelander Börkur Sigthorsson. She was 43.

Now Clarke is finally taking the stage, and she’s surely hoping it goes better than her 2013 Broadway debut in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” The “Game of Thrones” favorite recently told the BBC that her debut was a “catastrophic failure” she wasn’t ready for.Clarke was two years into her “Game of Thrones” fame when she tackled Broadway for the first time as Holly Golightly opposite Cory Michael Smith as Fred and George Wendt as Joe Bell in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Her performance was widely panned. The New York Times said Clarke acted like “an under-age debutante trying very, very hard to pass for a sophisticated grown-up,” while Variety wrote that her performance “won’t make Broadway audiences forget” Audrey Hepburn’s iconic turn in the film adaptation.

For Mark Wahlberg, being a father to teenage children in real life played an immense role in his approach to "Joe Bell," a film that centers on a true story of one dad’s quest -- to not only accept who his son is -- but honor his death after a tragic set of circumstances. The "Spenser Confidential" actor, 50, portrays the blue-collar dad from Oregon who makes it a mission to spread the message of anti-bullying after losing his 15-year-old teenage son, Jadin Bell, to suicide in 2013.

The new film, “Joe Bell,” charts the true story of a working-class father (played by Mark Wahlberg) who begins walking to New York after his gay son Jadin (Reid Miller) takes his own life after being bullied. “Joe Bell” premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival and opens in theaters this week. It has a screenplay by Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana, who won an Oscar for “Brokeback Mountain.”

When “Good Joe Bell” debuted at last year’s TIFF, there was buzz about the film being an Oscar contender for star Mark Wahlberg. But when after the debut, the reviews were published that showed the film wasn’t the awards contender many thought it would be, as it failed to live up to the inspiring true story it’s based on.
