Loose Women stars support Coleen Nolan as she opens up on Jimmy Savile ordeal
Coleen Nolan felt brave alongside her Loose Women peers to speak out about notorious paedophile Jimmy Savile who she'd met when she was just 14.During her teens, Coleen and her siblings formed part of the famed band the Nolan Sisters and were at the height of fame appearing on Top Of The Pops - of which Jimmy was a regular host.Recalling a frightening encounter with the known sexual abuser, Coleen remembered a stint on the popular BBC One programme where Jimmy had approached her.Speaking to the panel, she said: "I just didn't get the whole Jimmy Savile thing."You know I was around at that time as we were doing Top Of The Pops me and my sister."We'd met him a few times and every time we met him we used to be awww [pulled a disgraced face], I hope it's not Jimmy Savile this time because he was always creepy to me."Denise added: "And he'd tried to get you to go back with him."As the former hitmaker attempted to discuss the matter, she hit a stumbling block and tried to swerve the emotional ordeal.Responding, Coleen said: "Well yeah, it's difficult for me to talk about that scenario that I had because it's nothing when compared with what he did."Fortunately, her fond co-star's Jane Moore, Denise Welch and Katie Piper were on-hand to spur her on.Denise interjected: "No but it could have been Coleen, had you have gone."Coleen continued: "Yeah, I mean I was 14 and my sisters were appearing on Top Of The Pops and I was too young at that stage so he asked 'could I stand with him on the podium' when he introduced them."And then once they'd done their bit, he said to me, 'where do you live now?'"I said, 'I still live in Blackpool' and he said 'I'm there next week and I've got a suite to the hotel, you should come and visit me.'"She
