Man 'electrocuted by pylon' in horror incident near M60 as police close roads to drivers
Police have attended a scene close to the M60 following reports of a man being electrocuted by a pylon.The man currently remains in a serious condition, according to police.Greater Manchester Police tweeted: “Road closure southbound at the junction of Palatine Road, Princess Parkway.“This is in relation to a report of a man having been electrocuted by a pylon close to the M60.“The road has been closed as a precaution. The public are asked to avoid the area."Several roads have been closed off to the public and residents have been asked to avoid the area, including Palatine Road and Princess Parkway.It is understood that nearby residents heard a "loud bang" at around 5.30pm this evening (16 March).Witness footage shows a large police cordon in place just past the M60 junction.Forensics were spotted at the scene arriving in unmarked vehicles, along with investigators and the electric board.James Holt, a journalist at the scene, said they appeared to be "checking over the pylon with a torch".Two fire crews attended the scene at around 5:40pmn this evening.
