Prestwick nightspot.The 21-year-old was seriously assaulted after being set upon inside popular haunt Vic's & the Vine.Police say a disturbance broke out, which saw the man being pushed and having his leg stamped on during the incident.Detectives have now launched an appeal for information following the attack which happened at around 1.40am in the early hours of Saturday.The man was assisted by staff who called an ambulance and he was taken to Ayr Hospital where he was treated for the broken leg and has since been discharged.The suspect for the attack is described as white, 6ft in height, with short dark hair worn in a quiff style.

Ayrshire crooks have conned a four-figure sum of cash from a pensioner.Police have launched a manhunt following the callous crime at a house on Bellesleyhill Avenue in Ayr.On Friday, August 6 a man turned up at the 66-year-old's house unannounced and claimed to be from a roofing firm and convinced the woman her roof needed repaired.The suspect returned the following day with another man at 11.30am and obtained a four-figure sum of cash for the work.However, the men left the area and the work has yet to be carried out.They drove a white van with a black logo on the rear door and a white coloured saloon car.The suspects were accompanied by a teenage boy, aged around 15 years who was wearing a grey-hooded top.Detective constable Gordon Thomson

Lanarkshire have been elected to the SPFL board for the new campaign. Hamilton Accies vice-chairman Les Gray has elected to the board.

SPFL has confirmed its new seven-man board has been elected ahead of the new season. Celtic chief Peter Lawwell joins St Johnstone's Steve Brown in taking their seat at the league governing body's top table.
