Danny Lennon is likely to write himself into the history books after League One club Clyde handed him a two-year contract extension. The new deal, which runs until May 2024, means the 53-year-old is likely to reach the milestone of 200 games in charge of the Broadwood club next season, a feat achieved by only seven other managers in their history.Lennon took over at the Bully Wee in November 2017 and guided them to promotion in the following campaign. He told the club's website: "I am delighted to have signed up for another two seasons as manager of Clyde FC."I am excited to build on our journey of forward momentum together in my five seasons here, moving from bottom of the fourth tier to mid-table in the third tier.“There is still great potential for us to move forward as a club, amongst the stiff competition we face in League One."Our ambition in the next two years is to finish higher in the league each year and progress further in the cup competitions.

With the board, the coaches, the players and the fans all pulling together as one, I believe we can achieve that goal.”Chairman Gordon Thomson said: "I’m absolutely delighted that Danny has extended his contract with the club."The knowledge and experience that Danny brings to Clyde has been invaluable during his time at the helm.

His is already one of the longest current tenures at any Scottish League club, and that stability has been crucial during unprecedented circumstances in the game."I, personally, have greatly appreciated working with Danny as we faced these challenges together and, as a board, we look forward to continue to work with him to build on the progress we’ve made."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onIn
