Elon Musk urged by Scottish Twitter to 'buy Irn Bru' and put back the sugar

Elon Musk has been making headlines after buying Twitter for a modest $44 billion cash on Monday. The billionaire Tesla founder teased a new potential takeover target on the site and jokingly tweeted that he is "buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in" in relation to the soft drink’s original recipe and its use as a tonic for assorted maladies.

Since it's posting last night the sensational tweet has racked up over 2.5m likes and Glaswegians - and Scots in general - have jumped on the chance to put in their own requests.

Perfectly, they are calling on the worlds richest man and to fork out the cash to buy the nation's prized Irn Bru over coca cola - and to put the sugar back in as well, GlasgowLive reports.

One person responded to his viral tweet with: "No, all joking aside... if you could buy Irn Bru and put the sugar back in...
