An Ayrshire teenager and a troupe of Scottish theatre students rocked the Big Apple at the 2022 Tartan Day Parade.Actor Jude Shedden flew to New York last week to take part in a host of events at the famous annual celebration.The 14-year-old from Irvine took part in an impromptu flash mob at Grand Central Station, walked in the parade behind this year's Grand Marshall Marvel actor Karen Gillan and performed at a special ceilidh dinner.Jude told Ayrshire Live: "The ceilidh in New York was amazing.
It was really cool talking to different types of people."Lots of Americans were coming up to us and asking questions about what it's like to love in Scotland and what kind of tartan we were wearing."The parade was even better.
We had all been waiting to go for such a long time and the atmosphere was amazing. Everyone responded so well to it and it's even been shared on TikTok."Being in New York really made up my mind about what I want to do in the future.
