Construction completed at Kype Muir windfarm near Strathaven

Construction work has been completed at a Lanarkshire windfarm which is the first in the UK to include 200m-high turbines.Kype Muir extension, just south of Strathaven, features 15 ultra-powerful turbines including eight at the record height described as a “significant milestone in turbine technology and renewable energy”.It is now expected to generate up to 67 megawatts of renewable electricity per year, which operators On Path Energy say is sufficient to power more than 53,000 households.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
