After two years of waiting, Bridgerton’s third chapter is finally here. Released on Netflix on Thursday, 16 May, the series sees Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington’s (Nicola Coughlan) romance take the centre stage and, even better, it’s released in two parts, meaning there’s twice the opportunity to watch their love story play out. But since its first release in 2020, Bridgerton has seen some famous faces take to the screen, including Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor.

Netflix has confirmed exactly when Bridgerton will be back with its third season, as the streamer teased a new trailer on Tuesday (November 12). The regency romance drama, starring Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, returns with two parts next spring.

Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee has announced a new Channel 4 comedy show.The new eight-part series, How To Get To Heaven From Belfast will follow childhood friends Saoirse, Robyn and Dara in their 30s, who become embroiled in a mystery after attending the wake of a former classmate.A synopsis adds: “When the women each receive an email informing them of the death of Greta, an old classmate they were once very close with, there’s clearly some unspoken, unfinished business. The friends decide to attend Greta’s wake and discover all may not be quite as it seems.

Lisa McGee, the creator of triple-BAFTA-winner Derry Girls, has set her next project for Channel 4 and Hat Trick Productions.

The BAFTA TV Awards, the biggest ceremony in the British TV calendar, is taking place at London’s Royal Festival Hall this afternoon, May 14.

Specials of Call the Midwife, EastEnders, Bad Education, Ghosts, Malory Towers, Motherland, Inside No 9, Detectorists and The Cleaner will also be left under the TV tree. With filming due to start on season three of Netflix’s period drama Bridgerton in just a few weeks time, all eyes will be firmly fixed on Penelope and Colin next season as they take centre stage for the next exciting instalment of the series.
