'Lost my identity and career' Dirty Dancing's Jennifer Grey, 62, shares nose job regrets
Hollywood actress Jennifer Grey has told how she "lost her identity and career" after undergoing two rhinoplasties shortly after shooting to fame on Hollywood film Dirty Dancing. The star, 62, played Frances 'Baby' Houseman in the hit 1987 film, starring opposite Patrick Swayze who took on the role of Johnny Castle.Following the release of the cut film, Jennifer decided to undergo a rhinoplasty. The actress revealed that it was her mother's idea to change the shape and size of her nose, as she believed it would make her more memorable for casting directors.Jennifer underwent a second nose job in the early nineties. However, the star claimed that it rendered her so unrecognisable that her friend, Basic Instinct star Michael Douglas, didn't recognise her on the red carpet. In a new interview, the Dirty Dancing star claimed how she "banished" herself from Hollywood by undergoing the procedure.Recalling the moment she failed to be recognised by Michael when they crossed paths at a film premiere, Jennifer explained that it became "a thing."She said: "That was the first time I had gone out in public."And it became the thing, the idea of being completely invisible, from one day to the next."In the world’s eyes, I was no longer me," she added.Jennifer heartbreakingly added: "I spent so much energy trying to figure out what I did wrong, why I was banished from the kingdom."That’s a lie.
