I kept it for years, and when Ava was about six, I cut it down and made it into a dress for her.When the first lockdown hit and all acting jobs went on hold, life got very quiet.
Ava had just been to India with her partner in December 2019 and came home with a bundle of old saris. She had this idea to start making dresses out of these beautiful fabrics.
She drew a picture of a dress with big sleeves and a deep frill, and she said, “Do you think you could make it? Where’s your sewing machine?” I said, “Yes, well, I’ll have a go.” Now we have a whole line of dresses called.
