Perthshire after a collision has been identified by police as a beekeeper who had been honoured by the Queen. Eighty-six-year old Alexander Eric McArthur MBE, known as Eric, passed away on Friday, July 2 after the crash which happened around 10.35pm.
The incident happened on the southbound carriageway between Blair Atholl and Pitlochry, near to Killiecrankie. Emergency services attended but Eric, who was from Dalmuir, died at the scene.In a statement, Eric’s family said: “Eric was a loving husband and had been married for 50 years.
He was a father to six children and a grandfather to eight.“He was a lifelong scholar and championed many environmental causes throughout his life and was a globally renowned beekeeper.
