Passengers using lifeline Isle of Arran ferry service given weather warning

A ferry operator has warned of potential disruption on a lifeline route in North Ayrshire today. Caledonian MacBrayne has issued advice to essential travellers using the service between Ardrossan and Brodick on the Isle of Arran.Due to strong winds being forecast, a 'be aware' notice has been applied to sailings meaning there could be disruption or short-notice cancellations.In response to the coronavirus pandemic, CalMac is operating a reduced timetable until at least Tuesday, April 14.Cash is not being accepted on boats or at ports and the company is not taking bookings for crossings up to and including Wednesday, July 15.In a statement on its website, CalMac said: "We are operating a turn up and go service for essential travel only and
