The run was set up in late 2019 by a team of committed volunteers, and proved a huge hit in the 17 events which took place - with numbers increasing week-on-week and upwards of 200 people hitting the trails to run, jog or walk the 5k route every Saturday morning.
However following the March 2020 lockdown the event was put into cold storage, with organisers now set to welcome Parkrunners back this Saturday (August 14).And despite measures put in place due to Covid-19, the restart will be an emotional moment for everyone involved.Volunteer Anna Napier told the Lennox: “Our last event was March 14 2020, which was quite late really considering how quickly the country shut down after that.
