A paramedic has said his family was left traumatised after thugs burned the family’s car while they slept upstairs. Dad-of-one John Lowe, 46, who works for the Northwest Ambulance Service, was in the home with his wife and teenage son at the time the car was targeted.
The family had gone to bed and were awoken just before midnight on Friday evening by loud banging on the door. As Mr Lowe opened the door of his Oldham home, he saw his wife’s Vauxhall Astra engulfed by flames.
Fire crews attended and put the fire out before the flames reached John's house. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the blaze.
