Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction
Overnight rain helps crews fighting fire at Dovestone reservoir
manchestereveningnews.co.ukCrews fighting a moor fire near Dovestone reservoir in Oldham say overnight rain has helped them largely extinguish it. Firefighters spent the night tackling the fire which first broke out just before 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon.
At its height the fire covered an area of around 600 square metres of Saddleworth Moor near the reservoir Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said.
Ten fire engines from local stations attended with assistance also being drafted in from the fire services in Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
People were ordered to leave the area, which was busy with sun-seekers enjoying the warm weather, to allow the fire vehicles access to the fire on land off Holmfirth Road.
