Only Fools And Horses star's son Archie died in September 2020 at the age of 19 after suffering a brain haemorrhage.Nicholas, 60, has not been seen much since then and his friend Laurence Marks recently suggested that he would not return to the screen after what he'd been through. He said: "Now he's lost his son, he'll never come out again.
I doubt we will see him do any more acting."However, a rep for the actor has insisted that isn't the case at all. They said in a statement to MailOnline: "It is complete nonsense that Nicholas Lyndhurst is retired or retiring."The rep went on: "Of course he and his wife are devastated by the sudden loss of their young son but Mr Lyndhurst will continue his career with any parts and scripts that attract him. "He continues to constantly receive offers."Nicholas - who is best known for playing hapless Rodney Trotter in hit series Only Fools And Horses and Gary Sparrow in Goodnight Sweetheart - previously said that Archie's death had left him and his wife Lucy "utterly grief stricken".His pal Laurence said last week: "Nicholas underwent tragedy.
It must have broken his heart. It would break anyone's heart."He has always kept himself to himself and now he'll do that more than ever.
Now he's lost his son, he'll never come out again. I doubt we will see him do any more acting."I would like to say we will see him act again, but I don't think we will.
