THE last episode of Only Fools and Horses aired 40 years ago - and some of the cast look completely unrecognisable since their stint on the show.

Fanatics of the show will remember Alan Parry - portrayed by Denis Lill - who was Rodney Trotter’s father-in-law and Cassandra’s father.

The New Zealand-born British actor featured in many of the episodes in the sixth and seventh series onwards, including several Only Fools and Horses Christmas specials.

Denis, now aged 79, served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force before cementing himself in Only Fools history. In the BBC sitcom, Alan was the owner of a successful print firm that employed Rodney for a time from 1989 to 1991, later becoming a friend of Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter.
