direct to your inboxAs the fight continues against the Covid-19 pandemic, a number of key buildings have been transformed into testing and vaccine centres.But one new facility - which will offer tests to asymptomatic key workers in Greater Manchester - might be the grandest yet.Manchester Rates Hall, which forms part of Manchester Town Hall, has been transformed into the city's latest Coronavirus lateral flow testing site.The Grade 2 listed building carves a narrow line between Manchester's Town Hall Extension on one side, and the Central Library on the other.Staffed by soldiers from the First Battalion, Coldstream Guards and local healthcare teams, the new facility will open on Wednesday (3 February).The Rates Hall will be open to key.
