BBC Radio 5 Live host Mark Chapman has expressed his "incredibly protective" stance towards his colleagues following "exhausting" online criticism.
The broadcaster, who will be at the helm for the Paris 2024 Olympics coverage, once shared insights into the pressures of being in the public eye while working for the BBC.
The 50-year-old, affectionately known as 'Chappers', has a rich history with the corporation, having started on BBC Radio 1 with Sara Cox and later joining Scott Mills on the Drive Time show.
His career has since blossomed to include presenting Match of the Day 2, presenting sports broadcasts on BBC Radio 5 Live, and co-hosting The Sports Agents podcast alongside Gabby Logan.
