The League Two football derby between Oldham and Rochdale was suspended this afternoon over a 'medical emergency' involving a supporter in the stands.
The players were forced to leave the pitch at Boundary Park as medics rushed to give the fan treatment. The supporter involved is understood to be a Latics fan in Oldham's Main Stand. READ MORE: Oldham FC said on Twitter the fan involved - a man - was 'back responsive and receiving treatment'.
The club praised fans for alerting stewards quickly to the emergency. In an update, the club said: "A further update on the Latics supporter is he’s now at hospital in a stabilised condition thankfully.
We hope he makes a swift recovery so we can all welcome him back to Boundary Park soon." The emergency came 18 minutes into the game, with the score at 0-0.
