It was a night to remember for Alex Telles on Wednesday as he made his first competitive international start – and received praise from a true Brazil legend.
The Manchester United full-back got the nod as he played the full 90 minutes of Brazil’s 4-0 win over Paraguay in the South American World Cup qualifiers.
Telles was handed his opportunity after Alex Sandro was forced out, having tested positive for Covid-19, and the United defender certainly did not disappoint in his first competitive start for his country.
The 29-year-old received his call-up back to Brazil’s squad for their latest round of qualifiers for this year’s World Cup, having earned his last cap back in 2020.
