The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has vastly changed how movies and television shows are shot, from rigorous testing and on-set social distancing protocols. But “The Guilty” director Antoine Fuqua has set a new bar — he and his star Jake Gyllenhaal never met in person during production.

Universal did drop something fresh during its presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday: the first look at Michael Bay’s action movie Ambulance. 

Thankfully, director Antoine Fuqua and actor Jake Gyllenhaal have a history of collaboration. The two worked together on the 2015 boxing drama, “Southpaw,” and it’s that friendship and bond that they formed during that shoot that made the incredibly difficult production of their latest collab, “The Guilty,” even work.

While Jake Gyllenhaal may not be that into bathing, the actor has found plenty of ways to keep himself busy during the pandemic. Mainly acting.

Gyllenhaal’s production company Nine Stories will produce the film with Riva Marker and Kirkman via his shingle Skybound Entertainment.
