Talk about not reading the room correctly.In perhaps one of the most tone-deaf and spectacularly abysmal attempts at tongue-in-cheek humor, participants in New York City’s annual Drag March chanted “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children.
We’re here, we’re queer, we’re not going shopping,” as they marched through the city’s streets last Friday. The event, in which marchers trek over a mile from Tompkins Square Park in Alphabet City to the Stonewall Inn in the West Village, features hundreds of drag queens and LGBTQ activists, often holding provocative signs or banners while leading each other in chants.
