The No10 leak inquiry which has sparked chaos in Boris Johnson’s top team could take weeks to complete, and “probably” won’t find out who is responsible, a top official has said.
Simon Case, the head of the civil service, repeatedly refused to answer questions about the so-called ’chatty rat’ probe, claiming it could interfere with the progress of the months-long process.
Appearing before Parliament’s Public Accounts and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC), Mr Case refused to address explosive allegations made by Dominic Cummings last week, claiming Boris Johnson had tried to scrap the inquiry.
