Nicola Sturgeon has paid tribute to all those who lost their lives in the Second World War on the 75th anniversary of VJ Day.
The First Minister issued her heartfelt thanks to all those who served with the armed forces during the 1939 to 1945 conflict.
She told how it was due to their “bravery” that we enjoy many freedoms available to us in modern times and that we should all play a part in creating a more peaceful world.
Many VJ Day celebration plans were cancelled due to the pandemic however a national two-minute silence was also held at 11am.
