Tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios got revenge on his old rival Casper Ruud with a straight sets victory at the Indian Wells Masters – and wasted little time before gloating in front of the cameras.When the two stars were drawn to face one another in the third round of the California tournament, sparks were expected to fly.
After all, their last meeting three years earlier was a heated affair which resulted in one of the Aussie's most high-profile meltdowns.Kyrgios - who has previous when it comes to drama on court - and Ruud played against each other at the Italian Open in 2019, and there was fireworks between them when the former lost his temper and threw a chair onto the court in his fury.
He was kicked out of the tournament and Ruud was given a bye into the next round.Things got even more heated after the match, when Ruud referred to his opponent as an "idiot" in an interview.
Judging by his reaction to their latest meeting on the tennis court, Kyrgios has not forgotten about that jibe from three years ago.The Aussie got the better of his opponent on the court, progressing to the last 16 of the competition with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
