Chelsea buyer Nick Candy has slammed the state of Stamford Bridge, insisting that one of his top priorities as owner would be to move the club to a better stadium - even if it meant relocating the team for a number of years. The British property tycoon, who tabled a £2.5 billion bid for his boyhood club through his Blue Football Consortium on Friday, said Chelsea's ground was "basically s***" and that it needed to be rebuilt from scratch before it could be deemed "fit for purpose".He compared it to Tottenham's new state-of-the-art stadium, which he described as the best in world football, as well as Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.

And Candy insisted that Chelsea might have to follow rivals Spurs' lead by playing at Wembley for a period while Stamford Bridge is redeveloped."The stadium is not fit for purpose in the 21st century.

It's just not," Candy told The Sun. "So it needs doing, especially if the government wants to pitch for the World Cup in years to come."I sit in the executive club and have sat in lots of different parts of the stadium.

I used to sit with my dad next to the away fans and lots of parts of the stadium but it's basically s***."Spurs have the best stadium in the world, mind-blowingly brilliant.
