NHS hospital have been prevented from drinking its tap water after a contamination. Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary reportedly discovered the problem last week and told patients on Wednesday.Debris was found in a small number of taps and those affected were given bottled water.The contaminated water was discovered in the intensive care unit, the Edinburgh Evening News reports.However, this has not been confirmed by NHS Lothian.An investigation is now under way and staff have reportedly been told to wash their hands after coming into contact with the water.A spokesman for NHS Lothian said: “Some debris was found in the cold water supply.“It’s only affecting a small number of taps in one section of the Royal Infirmary.“Filters have been fitted.
