Patients at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary have been banned from drinking water from the taps and given bottles over a contamination probe.
A section of the hospital in the capital was found to have debris in some of the taps, which resulted in those receiving treatment being given bottled water to drink instead.
A spokesperson for NHS Lothian told the Edinburgh Evening News: “Some debris was found in the cold water supply. It’s only affecting a small number of taps in one section of the Royal Infirmary."Filters have been fitted and we are supplying bottled water for drinking as a short-term measure.”The news comes after a probe into Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
