Neymar arrived in Barcelona wearing a hoodie and cap ahead of his transfer corruption trial. The Brazil forward jetted in from France in the early hours of this morning (October 17) after scoring the winning goal in PSG's 1-0 win over Marseille yesterday.

He is facing fraud and corruption charges over his 2013 transfer from Santos to Barca.Brazilian investment firm DIS said last week it was demanding a five-year jail sentence for the money they claim to have lost out on for the move.

The company owned 40% of the rights to Neymar when he was at Santos and believe the two clubs lowered the true value of the deal.Aside from Neymar, Barcelona and Santos, the defendants in the trial also include his parents, former Barca presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, and ex-Santos president Odilio Rodrigues.DIS is also requesting jail terms for Rosell and Bartomeu, and a total fine of €149million (£129m) fine for the defendants.Neymar has denied the allegations but lost an appeal in Spain's Hight Court in 2017, which paved the way for the trial.Spanish prosecutors want a two-year prison term for the 30-year-old and the payment of a €10m (£8.7m), as well as a five-year jail term for Rosell and an €8.4m (£7.3m) fine for Barcelona.Baker Mackenzie, who will be defending Neymar and his family, have claimed the Spanish courts "lack jurisdiction to prosecute the Neymar family and their company N&N" as they are Brazilian nationals and the transfer was conducted in Brazil. He's been asked to attend the first day of the trial in person but it's unclear if he will have to stay for the remainder of the hearing, which could last up to two weeks.
