Ole Gunnar Solksjaer suffered the most undignified humiliation of his career at Old Trafford on Sunday, to such an extent that it now looks almost impossible for the Norwegian will be able to survive in his post beyond the end of the season.
Managing Manchester United is considered one of the biggest jobs in club football and whoever takes over the Old Trafford hot seat would inherit a hugely talented, if a touch unbalanced, squad with which to work.
It looks as though the club's owners are willing to give Solksjaer more time but if United look in danger of not finishing in the top four, a position they have not yet reached, then the Glazer's may then feel that a change needs to be made.
