bill after she was asked to cough up nearly £1,800 for her small flat.BirminghamLive reports mum-of-one, Irsi Hyka, dubbed the huge quarterly bill a "joke."Irsi, 24, was told she had to pay an unbelievable £1,790.84 that was based on "estimated readings" for the Birmingham city centre apartment she shares with her partner and her two-month-old baby. The mother is currently receiving maternity pay, and was left gobsmacked by the bill as the price rocketed nearly 800 per cent from around £200 every quarter. She decided to complain after initially receiving a £1,000 bill.
Irsi contacted SSE Energy Service and asked them to investigate if her meter was making correct recordings, but she alleged they didn't send anyone out to the property. "They charged me £1,000 for a period of three months," she told BirminghamLive."This was insane; also it was summer months which I haven't stayed home most of the time - and my apartment is so small."I called them several times, I've been waiting on the line for so many days.
They asked me to send to them for one week my meter reading through email and after that they never called back."I needed to give them a call back to book an inspector to see my meter because I was thinking it was broken.
