direct to your inboxA developer has revealed new images of how its £60m transformation of an historic cotton mill could look after submitting full plans for the site.Stockport’s Weir Mill could soon be home to more than 250 new apartments under proposals brought forward by regeneration specialist Capital and Centric.The one, two and three-bedroom properties would be split across the riverside location.Existing 17th century mill buildings would house 87 of the new homes, with the two new builds providing the remaining 166.
At 14-storeys high, the largest of the new blocks towers over the viaduct and is likely to prove controversial.As well as providing new homes, Capital and Centric wants the site to provide a thriving leisure and culture.
