whisky producing regions and now, the small island of Islay, off Scotland's west coast, could soon welcome its 11th distillery.Already home to some of Scotland's top distilleries, plans for Elixir Distillers' new site were first announced in 2018.
Should the plans be agreed the as-yet-unnamed distillery will follow Islay's current youngest distillery Ardnahoe and the soon to be revived Port Ellen distillery in adding to the island's already impressive array of whisky production sites.The drinks arm of the Whisky Exchange, which was founded by brothers and entrepreneurs Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh, Elixir owns the Port Askaig and Elements of Islay whisky brands.
