Netflix on April 27.It will be called 365 Days: This Day.When the original film was released two years ago, it was dubbed the Polish 50 Shades of Grey as it had some shocking explicit sex scenes. The film is centred around a mob boss called Massimo, played by Michele Morrone, who kidnaps Laura, played by Anna-Maria Sieklucka - which starts a steamy romance.365 DNI was initially met with backlash worldwide, and even a petition to have it removed from the streaming platform.
Critics commented that the film was romanticising abusive relationships. The sequel will have more kinky sex scenes and the story sees their relationship go the next level with the new trailer showing the controversial couple getting married. However, cracks begin to show as Massimo is keeping secrets from his new wife and Laura gets flirty with a new man, played by Simone Susinna.
The first film ended on a cliffhanger with Laura vanishing during a car journey in a tunnel. Massimo assumes that she is dead, as a police car blocks the tunnel's entrance in the closing scene.Of course, we know now that Massimo and Laura’s story doesn’t end there.
365 Days: This Day is the first of two planned 365 DNI sequels, which were announced last May. The films are based on the book trilogy by author Blanka Lipińska, who also worked on the movie’s script. The initial announcement came from Netflix's Content Acquisition Manager of films for CEE and Poland, Łukasz Kluskiewicz, who told Deadline: "365 Days was one of our most popular films for our members in 2020."We’re working closely with Blanka Lipinska, the author of the ‘365 Days’ trilogy of books and writer of the film, to continue Laura and Massimo’s story on screen.
