Neil Doncaster has hinted that the idea of colt teams in the lower leagues could be put back on the table in future. Clubs are locked in reconstruction talks after the 2019-20 season was brought to a premature halt with Hearts, Partick Thistle and Stranraer relegated.
Jambos chairman Ann Budge put forward a plan for temporary changes that could not garner the support of clubs. And Rangers proposed a 14-10-10-18 structure that would see the Ibrox club and Celtic enter B teams into League Two along with Brora Rangers and Kelty Hearts.
